Not sure I've been to
the site previously but found it most interesting to look at the
history as I was member of 1st Radio Battalion in Viet Nam
1970-71..... Great Job !!!!!!!!!!!!
11-10-2013 Greetings, and Thank You!!
Very much enjoyed visiting this website, a job well done!
My father is Gordon C. Hagan, and I am one super proud
daughter!!
I can't imagine the bond you guys share, looking at the
pictures brought tears to my eyes as I wondered what is was like, and wonder
how you all feel as you reminisce.
I must say, seeing brave young men with smiling faces, and
reading the Unit History has raised my appreciation to a new level.
My dad, my rock, the man who shaped and molded me, the man
who has always been there for me, I just want to say thank you for being a
vital part of his life.
Thanks for building this website, as it allowed me to
get a glimpse of my father's Brotherhood.
Be Blessed, and Peace to you all.

To Whom It May Concern,
COMMENTS Ms. Stocks:My name is Mike Moylan &, in response to yr "comments" entry, I can provide you the following information re yr Dad: My wife Barbara & I together with our son Michael Jr. were your next door neighbors at San Miguel 1961-62 . You were just a youngster then of course & I doubt you remember us at all. You used to play with our son, Michael all the time since we lived right next door. Your father & I were very good friends & worked in the same watch section for quite some time. Yr Dad was quite a guy, soft-spoken with a ready smile virtually all the time for everyone. An extremely capable guy also who had the respect of all the Marines who worked with him. If you have any specific questions re yr Dad relating to that time frame, I'd be happy to attempt to respond to them. Warm Regards, Mike Moylan Maj. USMC (Ret)

to see pictures if anyone has any and would love know a little more! I
would like to put his information on the page labeled Brothers at the

dress blues, I am in the process of framing all of this but would like
to know if he has anymore?

7/31/2010 COMMENTS Hi,
6/10/2011 COMMENTS
Greetings webmaster. Sorry to see the guest book had to be
shut down. My name is Joseph A. Tagliaferri & I was in 1st 81mm mortar squad in
1964 dug in around the Krypto container. There is very little info published on
this mission & to be honest I just do not recall a great deal of it. Very
interesting to know I served directly under a future Commandant of the Marine
Corps. Just thought I'd touch base & say hello. Semper Fi
CommentsThe improvements of this web site are remarkable. It is a reflection of the uniqueness of the members of the group. Semper Fi 4/18/2010 CommentsLooking for anyone who served in 1stCompRadCo or 1stRadCo at Kaneohe MCAS to join this site and re-connect to the Marines you served with. Contact the webmaster so we can welcome you back. Cpl. Dennis A. Fouts 4/18/2010 CommentsThis is a great site! Very professional. I have a question: P.J. Fennel was the XO in 1963 but I can't remember the C.O., It might have been an officer named Smith but I'm not sure Doug (Mac) McQuate
4/18/2010 CommentsI would like to hear from the Marines that served with my Dad, Garrett O'Hara. Any tidbits of his time in service. Karen O'Hara Stocks 4/18/2010 CommentsI really appreciate your web site. I'm a scrapper and the site has been a good resource for the work I'm doing for Harvey (Rosy). It would be great if I could print from the site, and in color. Thank you for your work in honoring the one I love and his brothers who served our nation. Margaret Rosenfeld
4/19/2010 CommentsXO FENNEL
4/19/2010 CommentsI BELIEVE XO WAS FENNEL AND CO WAS NAMED SMITH .. I THINK Capt Fennel became a Major and CO - but my memory is not what it use to be ....I would bet Brew would know for sure .... 4/20/2010 CommentsI do not remember Lt.Col Smith's first name. I do remember that he was one of the highest ranking officers,at that time, to have not gone to college. COL. Fennel and I had a long and not so glorious relationship. I am ashamed to say that the difficulty was of my doing. However, I can relate a couple of "sea stories" (one including RJ Kelly} that some may find humorous. Semper Fi 4/22/2010 CommentsI LOVE THE IDEA OF A GUEST BOOK. MAYBE SOME PEOPLE WHO ARE JUST SURFING WILL FIND THIS SITE AND WRITE A COMMENT AND SIGN IT. WHO KNOWS, MAYBE ONE OF OUR RADIO CO. BUDDIES WILL SEE IT AND JOIN THE FUN. THANKS JACK AND WHOMEVER ELSE HELPED WITH THIS. HAROLD BEASLEY 4/27/2010 CommentsCopy of an email recieved Mar. 12, 2010 Retired MGySgt 2691. No real question on membership. I never served with 1stRad. Always 2nd Rad. But I did serve at Company L, MarSptBn in Phu Bai in 1967. Anyway, someone sent me link of your site (great looking by the way), and I wanted to drop you a line to tell you how much I enjoyed looking at some of the photos of present and fallen Marines on your site. It was nice to see Marines like Ike Eisenhower, Lloyd Bean, "Pappy" Godwin and others. Garrett O'Hara was one of my "try to emulate" hero Marines and will always be fondly remembered. I noticed that you did not have a link on your site to the MCCA . I think it would be great if there was reciprocal links between the organizations so that more of us old cronies can spend our days reminiscing. Again, kudos on your site and thanks for awakening some fond memories of good times spent with fine Marines. Semper Fi! John Comer

A few of us also supported 1st Recon who arrived from Korea in 1955 and we assisted them on several field exercises at Onslow Beach CA. Date: 6/17/2010 Time: 9:46:52 AM Remote User: CommentsI find it very interesting to read about 1st Radio from beginning to current. I was with 1st Radion Bn in Kaneohe from 1966 to 1968. Sub Unit 1 in Viet Nam 8/68 then to become 1st Radion Bn until 8/69. For such a small unit I think we did tremendous work for the benefit of not only the Marine Corps but everyone who could use the information we gathered. I am proud to have been a member.
